VEGAN VANILLA THICKSHAKE

You may know I have some food intolerances and eczema that flares up from time to time if I’m a bit naughty…well, the last 2 weeks I have been very naughty (hellooooo birthday cake and malteasers!) so, I’ve had a flare up and I’m haaaating it. That, plus work is super busy at the moment and I’m doing around 50 hours a week plus commuting, you could say my cortisol and stress levels are pretty high as well.

So, what can I do about it? I’m going in a strict dairy free, gluten free and sugar free (yep, even no fruit!) diet for 7 days – also known as the Candida diet, to reduce the yeast and bacteria build up that is inflaming my eczema. I loveeee carbs, chocolate and my normal daily staple is bananas so it’s only Tuesday and I’m strugggggling big time! Those sweet cravings are kicking in so I made myself a yummy vanilla protein shake to rid my 3:30itis!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1-2 cups almond milk
  • Toppings: I used coconut, slithered almonds, walnuts and cacao nibs

So simple, just throw the ice, protein powder, milk and cinnamon into your blender and blend until fully mixed

Top with your favourite ingredients!

I would normally always add in a frozen banana or frozen berries, but I’m trying my best to be super strict for this whole week because I know my skin will thank me for it. I added in more ice than usual and it made it just as thick and yummy
