TURMERIC LATTE

Everyone is jumping on the Tumeric Latte or ‘Golden Milk’ health fad, so I’ve done some research as to why, and added in a recipe for you to make your own right at home!

Turmeric benefits:
– Turmeric is great for your skin because it has anti-inflammatory properties. I’ve seen so many people doing turmeric facials that I’m going to research these as well & will keep you updated with another post later in the week. It’s anti-inflammatory properties can help with skin redness, but it also has anti-bacterial properties which can reduce blemishes as well  

– Turmeric is great for your brain & nervous system because it produces curcumin which helps brain function & memory. Researchers from the Government Medical College in India have also found that curcumin can help to manage depression.

– Because of it’s anti-inflammatory properties it is helpful in reducing muscle pain and arthritis

– It fights infection and can help to relieve stomach pain – perfect if you have IBS or gut sensitivities

Here is the recipe I used to make my Turmeric Latte (which tastes a little like a Chai Latte):

INGREDIENTS:
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon ginger
Half teaspoon cinnamon
Half tablespoon coconut sugar
2 teaspoons coconut oil
1 cup almond & coconut milk
Pinch of freshly ground black pepper (this is needed for your body to absorb the curcumin properties)

METHOD:
I put everything into my electric milk frother and let it do it’s thing!
Alternatively, you can put all of the ingredients into a saucepan and simmer for a few minutes until everything has mixed nicely & the milk is at your desired temperature. Then put into a blender & blend until frothy!
